Green Industry Leaders to Honor Michael Pollack

Each year, the NYSNLA Hall of Fame Committee makes its recommendation to the NYSNLA Board of Directors to recognize an individual who has made outstanding and unselfish contributions to the nursery industry in the State of New York. “Michael is one of the most unselfish people in the industry. He has worked tirelessly to build relationships within the Association and address industry issues most important to NYSNLA,” comments Donna Moramarco, Chair of the Hall of Fame Committee. “He has inspired so many in this industry and has dedicated his career to helping green professionals find their place and develop and succeed in the industry.”

“NYSNLA is very proud to honor Mike with this distinguished award,” comments Jim Presutti, CNLP, NYSNLA President. “He embodies true professionalism and dedication to the industry. He is proud to be a member of an industry that goes out of their way to help each other. Mike always promotes fellowship and unity with members from different regions throughout the state, and as a result has made many lasting friends.”

Michael Pollack has served on the NYSNLA Board of Directors and served as President in 2007 and 2008 and has also served on numerous regional and state committees. He has also served as a member of the Board of Directors for the Nurserymen’s Foundation and currently serves as their President.

Michael Pollack has played an integral role in the growth and development of the association serving as a liaison between the association and several industry supporters. He is widely recognized as a leader in the green industry and is known for his professional and personal integrity.

Through his work at the Flanders Group, Michael has shared his passion for the industry, knowledge and creativity and has demonstrated exceptional service and leadership to members of the New York State Nursery and Landscape Association.

The Award was presented to Michael at a ceremony held opening day of the New York State Fair, Thursday, August 23, 2012 at 10:30am in the Court of Honor, John Deere Horticulture Building, State Fairgrounds, Syracuse, NY.
