OSHA Electronic Reporting Extended to 12/15/17

By December 8, 2017August 22nd, 2018

As you have heard, there is a new OSHA electronic reporting requirement this year that employers with 20 or more employees in industries that are classified as “high-injury/high-risk” are required to submit their OSHA 300A summary (for 2016 recordable incidents) electronically.

Many clients of the Flanders Group fall under these “high-risk” industries including members of our NYSIF safety groups – 1) horticulture/landscaping, 2) property management/real estate, 3) waste/refuse, 4) marinas/boat sales, 5) manufacturing, and 6) auto/RVs.

Also, ANY employer with more than 250 employees is required to report to OSHA electronically no matter what industry they fall under. The original deadline to submit your 2016 300A summary data was originally set for 12/01/2017 however it has been extended to 12/15/17 to allow employers a little more time to report.

The Flanders Group has put together step by step instructions with screenshots to assist you in reporting your data to the OSHA Injury Tracking Application (ITA) website. If you would like more information or have additional questions, please contact Kerry Steenburgh, Director of Client Services directly at 585-485-5867.  A full list of “high-risk” industries required to report to OSHA can be found here: https://www.osha.gov/recordkeeping/NAICScodesforelectronicsubmission.html
